Welcome to The Compassionate Friends - Pretoria Chapter
The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is a non-denominational self-help support organization offering friendship, comfort and understanding to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings.

TCF believes that bereaved parents can help each other towards a positive resolution of their grief journey and through sharing with others who are walking the same path but are in different places on their own grief journey, and may gain understanding of their feelings and reactions and learn ways of coping...

TCF reaches out to all bereaved parents accross artificial barriers of religion, race, economic class or ethnic group.

TCF understands and respects that every bereaved parent has individual needs and rights.

TCF belong to their members

When life brings you to your knees……

Time...how time influences our bereaved parent’s lives, too short, too long... “Time heals” is words all newly bereaved parents don’t want to hear nor understand, but believe me; the pain you feel unable to deal with now, will become manageable in time. Give time time...

TCF's doors are open to all bereaved parents, grandparents, siblings and primary care givers, regardless of where you are on your journey... you are not alone!

May is for Mothers; A blessed Mothers Day to all on Sunday 12 May 2013
Somebody's Mother today
will linger by her phone
Hoping one child will call
Before the day has flown.
Somebody's Mother will weep
Heartbroken and stunned tonight
because her children gone
or forgot to call or write.
Somebody's Mother somewhere
will kiss with lips of grief
Portraits of children gone
and cry herself to sleep"

If you have the time and commitment to be part of our organization that support bereaved parents, we need you! There is no monetary reward for your time and efforts; the reward is to make a difference, even in the smallest way...

We moved from our special haven in Centurion (our children's garden is still there) and have now office space at Sonja Smith’s offices in Rubenstein Road, Moreleta Park, and also at Botshelo House at The Brooklyn Methodist Church, Murray Street, Brooklyn.
